How do I delete or close my Fold account?

We're sorry you are considering closing your account, and we understand the Fold program may not be right for everyone.

If you are currently a Fold+ member and no longer wish to pay for your membership, you can downgrade to our basic free tier, which has no monthly or annual fee. To do so, please follow these steps:

  1. Open the Fold app

  2. Tap the menu hamburger in the top left corner

  3. At the top of the screen, tap where you see your name and Account and membership

  4. Turn off the auto-renewal. When your Fold+ membership is over, we will automatically downgrade your account.

If these instructions do not match the options visible in your current version of the Fold app, please follow our standard troubleshooting steps to ensure you are getting the most up-to-date experience in the app!

If you still wish to close your account, you will need to make sure that any available USD funds have been removed from your debit card and that all rewards over the 30k minimum have been withdrawn. If you need to remove your USD funds, please see: How do I withdraw funds from the Fold Debit Card? Any USD funds left on the card at the time of account closure will be considered forfeit, and the remaining reward balances will be permanently removed from your account after it is closed. Please note that we are unable to process any reward withdrawal requests under 30k sats.

Note: Fold account closures can take up to 30 days to process to allow all pending transactions to settle fully.
