How do I redeem my Fold bitcoin gift card?
- Download or open the Fold app

Complete the Fold account registration, if you don't already have an account with us.
Please note: you will receive a free Fold prepaid debit card as part of the account setup, but you do not need to activate it.
- Complete the prompts on the bitcoin tab to finish setting up your bitcoin custody account
- On the home screen, look under the heading More ways to earn and tap Redeem Bitcoin Gift Card (the same button is also available on the Gift Card tab)
- Enter your card number and PIN into their respective fields, and tap Continue
- After reviewing the total sats you will receive, select Redeem
Your sats will be visible on the Bitcoin tab of the Fold app shortly after redemption!
Is a Fold account required?
Yes, Fold account registration and verification is required in order to redeem. If you already have an account, you can redeem your gift card within the app.
Please note that, due to heavy regulations surrounding financial assets, we are required to verify the identity of all new account owners. That step is completed as part of our debit card on-boarding process, and as such, you will automatically be sent a Fold Prepaid Debit Card in the mail. While this happens automatically due to the required steps to redeem your Fold Bitcoin Gift Card, you are under no obligation to activate or utilize our debit card product!
How do I send my Fold bitcoin gift card to someone else as a gift?
- After purchasing a Fold bitcoin gift card in the Fold app, you will receive a confirmation email.
- Open the email, and tap or click the Send as a gift button.
- Tap/click the beige Gift button on the webpage that opened.
- Enter the gift card recipient's email address and add a message.
- Tap/click Share
Are there any fees for redeeming my bitcoin gift card?
A processing fee may be applied at redemption. These fees primarily go to our supporting partners, who make this product possible. It helps cover everything from placement with retailers to processing and exchange costs. Processing fees are subject to change and may vary depending on the products or services selected.
What would prevent me from redeeming a Fold bitcoin gift card?
- You must sign up for a Fold account, and be verified in order to redeem a bitcoin gift card.
- Fold verified users must be at least 18 years of age.
- Fold verified users must reside in the United States.
What if I am not approved for a Fold account and cannot redeem my gift card?
If you are not approved for a Fold account, please reach out to our partner TOTUS to request a refund.
During normal business hours (M-F 8:00AM – 5:00PM CT, excluding holidays) call the TOTUS team at 866-548-1766 or visit fold.giftcardhelp.com to chat with an agent. After hours, send an email to fold@giftcardhelp.com. Please include the cardholder’s name, email address, phone number, card number, and details of the request. The TOTUS team will respond to chats within minutes and emails within 4 business hours.
