What is an MCC?
MCC stands for Merchant Category Code. It is a four-digit number assigned to a merchant by credit card issuers (like Visa) to classify the type of goods or services the merchant provides. For your Fold card, Visa uses these codes to determine your purchase category and award bonus cash back or points.
Which MCC's do not earn rewards on the Fold Bitcoin Credit Card?
- 4829: Money Transfer / Remittance
- 6051: Non-FI Foreign Currency, Crypto, Money Orders
- 6540: Stored Value Purchase / Load (Gift Cards)
- 6010: Cash Disbursements (OTC)
- 6011: Cash Disbursements (ATM)
- 6211: Securities Brokers / Dealers
- 7995: Gambling & Betting
- 7801: Gambling & Betting
- 7802: Gambling & Betting
- 5966: Telemarketing & Negative-Option Subscriptions
- 5967: Telemarketing & Negative-Option Subscriptions
- 5968: Telemarketing & Negative-Option Subscriptions
- 7273: Dating / Escort
- 5993: Tobacco
