What are Fold Automations?
Fold's Bitcoin Automations are a set of features within the Fold app that enable you to automate your bitcoin purchases. By setting up automations, you can save time and manage your stacking more efficiently. Whether you prefer regular scheduled buys or rounding up your transactions with small bitcoin purchases, automations can help you build your bitcoin holdings steadily and predictably at your own pace.
Current Automation Offerings
Set up recurring buys at specified intervals – daily, weekly, or monthly – to steadily increase your bitcoin balance.
Allows you to automatically convert a percentage of your deposits into bitcoin. Whether it’s part of your paycheck or a transfer from another account, you set the percentage once and watch your bitcoin investment grow over time.
With every purchase made using your Fold Card, the transaction is rounded up to the nearest dollar, and the difference is used to buy bitcoin automatically.
Set your round-up multiplier to 1x, 2x, 5x, or 10x.
How to Access Automations
To access Automations, follow these steps:
- Open the Fold app
- Tap on Bitcoin
- Under the Grow your stack heading, choose Auto stack or Direct to bitcoin
- Follow the prompts to complete set-up
- To set up Round ups, tap the back button in the top left corner of the Bitcoin screen
- Tap Cash
- Under the Do more with your money heading, tap Round ups
- Follow the prompts to complete set-up

Manage Your Automations
To manage your active Auto stack or Direct to bitcoin automation, follow these steps:
- Open the Fold app
- Tap on Bitcoin
- Under the Grow your stack heading, choose Auto stack or Direct to bitcoin
- Adjust or turn off according to your preference. Don't forget to confirm your modification!
To manage your active Round ups automation, follow these steps:
- Open the Fold app
- Tap Cash
- Under the Do more with your money heading, tap 1x/2x/5x/10x Round up (yours will show whatever multiplier you chose)
- Change your multiplier and tap the Modify button OR tap Turn off Round ups at the bottom
